We think of ourselves as a community school first and foremost. SGS students have real and meaningful opportunities to engage in community projects to advance their learning of how issues are interconnected. Community leaders help our students explore their known passions and discover new ones. We know that girls lack a diverse set of role models, which is why SGS is dedicated to bringing in women across sectors who are leaders and innovators in their field to inspire our students.
This special connection to the community has always been part of our success. In this way, we all benefit when a SGS graduate takes a leadership position in business, politics, science or the arts.
Seattle Girls’ School has over 20 community partners that aid in developing a hands-on program.
